How to find a BSR code
Find a recorded BSR code by searching for an IFSC, bank, branch, city or PIN code, then compare the branch details.
Start with an exact code
If you already have a BSR code or IFSC, enter it in the search box. Copy it carefully and keep any zero at the start. Open the result and check that the bank and branch match the information you need.
Search by branch or location
If you do not know the code, try the bank name, branch name, city or six-digit PIN code. A short branch-and-city search can help narrow a long list. Several branches may have similar names, so compare the bank and full address.
Browse by bank or state
Choose a bank, then select a state to see its branch entries. If you know the location first, start with the state directory and choose a bank from there. These lists cover the records available here; they are not a complete list of every bank branch in India.
Read the entry before using the code
Check the recorded identifier, branch details and source notes. A matching IFSC may add a name or address from another reference. If no match is available, do not guess the missing code.
If you cannot find the branch
Try a shorter branch name or browse the relevant bank and state. The record may use an older name, or it may be missing from our reference. For a current banking or pension matter, ask the bank or the relevant official office.

For a tax challan
Use the BSR code shown for your actual tax payment. Do not choose a similar directory result just to fill a missing digit. The payment receipt and the official tax service are the right places to check that transaction.
